Biography

Dave Pelton has a diverse background in business, education, athletics, entertainment and management. He is a highly motivated leader with a strong love for his community and country.

Mr. Pelton has set himself apart as a business minded energy and environmental policy expert. He operates under the philosophy that good business sense can coexist with good public policy. In 2001 he was named President of Trust for the Future, an organization dedicated to addressing our nation’s energy and environmental issues.

Mr. Pelton is best known in Nashville for founding Clean Cities of Middle Tennessee, an organization dedicated to stopping our nation’s reliance on foreign oil. The organization partners with over 200 corporations, agricultural groups and government agencies. In addition he helped found the West Tennessee Clean Cities Coalition, is a founding partner of Carbon Angel and helped shepherd the award winning documentary film “Kilowatt Ours.”

Mr. Pelton has a long history of leadership and achievement. In 1989 he was named an NCAA All-American in the Decathlon. He has a BA in English and a BA in Education. His collegiate athletic success gained him an invitation to an Olympic training program in southern California where he trained and competed internationally for five years.

Like many athletes, Mr. Pelton also entered the world of entertainment. In 1991 he joined the Actor’s Union (SAG) and has appeared in over 30 commercials, advertisements and productions. ??Mr. Pelton retired from athletics in 1996, moved to Nashville and began working as a marketing consultant. He is also a regular guest host for “Air Care”, a television show dedicated to air quality and environmental issues.
